“What’s with the HUGE Bell?”
It’s a common question we hear from new visitors at Adolfson & Peterson Construction’s Tempe office. The short answer is that the hulking, well-worn, bell is rung as part of a ceremony to mark a project win.
When the bell is ringing, there’s a sense of excitement in the office. Hooting and hollering, clapping, and celebration typically follow initially being startled by the resounding ring through the halls of the office. It’s absolutely a time to appreciate the work put in by staff. But the ceremony, rooted in company tradition, is about much more than just winning. It’s a celebration of relationships.
On the one hand, we are marking the culmination of a successful pursuit process. Time and effort by our business development, marketing, operations, and preconstruction staff is being celebrated. But none of this success is possible without solid relationships created with industry partners – brokers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and others – who have helped us get to this point.
One the other hand, our bell-ringing ceremony marks the start (or continuation) of a relationship with an owner or developer. While we are celebrating the win, we are also embarking on the exciting endeavor of bringing a vision to reality – constructing a new or renovating an existing building for a client.
A&P has been partnering locally with commercial office and retail developers, senior housing providers, multifamily developers, municipalities, healthcare providers, K-12 school districts and higher education institutions over the past 25 years. Open, honest and collaborative relationships with
clients and partners are critical to a successful construction project in today’s competitive environment.
As an ORIGINAL POUR, relationships are the reason A&P has been involved with CRENAB since its inception. The fun, friendly and casual atmosphere of this particular network has allowed us to connect with professionals across various commercial real estate disciplines building long-lasting relationships along the way.
Ringing the A&P bell is a deep-rooted, cultural tradition and above all reminds us of how important relationships are in delivering an exceptional building process.
